Nemberala Location
The Nemberala Beach Resort is located on the small island of Rote (1,214 sq. km.), in the Nusa Tenggara region of Indonesia, just
south west of Timor. This is the southern most region of Indonesia and also the driest given the close proximity to the large deserts
of NW Australia. This combination of subtropical topography, tropical waters and unique culture make a visit to Rote unlike any other
area of Indonesia or Asia.

No matter your country of origin, all passengers visiting Nemberala Beach Resort travel via Bali and Kupang, W.Timor. Given the potential for delays or schedule changes in air travel it is recommended that passengers spend one pre and post night in both Bali and Kupang. Although this does add quite a bit of travel time to the standard itinerary, it is an excellent safety precaution to avoid last minute hassles and corresponding stress. Given the warmth of the Balinese people and that each segment of travel from Bali to Rote is relatively short, most guest feel their vacation really starts upon arrival in Indonesia.
A basic outline of the standard travel itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Arrive in Bali
Note, passengers may spend as many pre or post nights in Bali as they desire.

Day 2: Depart Bali
Depart Bali mid morning and arrive in Kupang, W. Timor early afternoon. The non stop flight from Bali to W.Timor takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to the best hotel available in Kupang. Remainder of day at leisure.
Day 3: Ferry Transfer
After an early morning transfer to the ferry, two hour high speed first class ferry crossing, and 1.5 hour drive across Rote in custom resort van you will arrive at Nemberala Beach Resort around noon.
The average stay at NBR is 9 to-11 nights. Many passengers stay longer given the travel time required to get on location. However, we have had passengers that spend longer stays in Bali spend as little as 5 nights at Nemberala. This schedule will assume a 9 night stay.

Day 12: Depart Nemberala
Departure from the resort is scheduled for 9:00am to allow time to catch the 11:30 ferry back to Rote. Guests who prepare for departure the evening prior may have time for one last surf this morning. Arrival back in Kupang approximately 1:00pm. Overnight in Kupang.

Day 13: Depart Kupang
Depart Kupang mid day, arrive Bali early afternoon — overnight Bali.
You will be met, transferred and assisted for every airport, hotel and ferry transfer by knowledgeable staff. If you are able to schedule a flight departing Bali after 9:00pm it may not be necessary for you to schedule a post night in Bali.
This general schedule was correct at the time of posting. It is possible that the domestic flight times between Bali and Kupang may change, or the ferry schedule between Kupang and Rote may change which could eliminate the need for a pre or post night in Kupang. For passengers scheduling trips well in advance of travel we do recommend the pre and post night in Kupang to avoid potential problems.
